Karla, The Bloody Sword's shopkeeper, lives in a tiny hut surrounded by potatoes, lettuce, strawberries, and other vegetables and fruit. A fence lined the sheep's pen. "Hey!" Karla stepped out her door onto the front steps. She was still wearing her pajamas. "Who are you? And please, please don't steal my crops and livestock!"

The mage stopped and turned to calling her lady. The woman looked familiar and Sunrise quickly realized that she was the shopkeeper at Bloody Sword. "Good lady I can assure you I was not tend to steal anything. I am just looking for a way to my house, which should be somewhere near." She turned her head and allowed the tender wind to play with her long cloak and make patterns in her reddish-green hair.

"Oh, well.." Karla paused. "The only house near here is the old house that hasn't been sold for more than a year for about 200 years. Be careful, I say. It is said to be haunted." Karla's eyes turned dark. "Many people that bought the house died in their bed on the first night they bought the house." Kara barely whispered. "Oh! What is wrong with me? It is fine, it is fine. Just be careful. It's twenty oak trees northeast."

Sunrise focused on Karla's words. "I see." She said holding her chin and looked up on shopkeeper. "Thank you dear lady for the direction, and for the warning." She said with a serious voice. "I shall remember your words." Mage nodded her head slightly and went her way.

Karla stared back at the woman walking away. A newcomer to the town? Many people didn't move here because of the monsters that were waiting outside the town walls and gates. A newcomer was very strange. She'd have to keep an eye on that woman for a while.

I skipped up to the hut. I smiled at Karla. "Hi! I'm Emerella," I said cheerfully. "Can I pick some strawberries please?" Even though I was a teenager, I still acted like a child really.

"Oh, sure, young Child." Karla said happily. "But you'll have to pay me back 5 g later. And also, strawberries are very good in healing potions." Karla winked and went back inside her hut. Then she came back out with a basket in hand. She handed it to Emerella. "There you go. Watch out for the aphids!"

I beamed at her. "Thank you!" I said in a sugary voice, and skipped off, grabbing strawberries as I went.
